The residence Amadio House is located inside the castle of Scheggino, an ancient medieval village in the heart of the Nera Valley clinging to the rocky outcrop overlooking the gorge of the Nera river.
Within the walls, between ladders and small cobbled streets, you can see an old house in 1600 near the river where once was located on the drawbridge.
The house is accessed through a courtyard partly covered by a roof, where you can see the old wood stove still working, the vaulted room now used as a breakfast room, the whole cave carved into the rock in ancient times was used as preservation of food, the wine cellar completely made of stone and the room used up to all the 800 café with adjoining distillery for the production of anisette.
On the first floor there is a living room with a stone fireplace, a corner with a piano and a small library, then two double bedrooms with bathroom and kitchen. At the second level, third bedroom with bathroom and the area of private house owners.
The house is furnished with antique furniture, the result of a careful selection and research by Lanfranco the owner, as well as collections of prints and old that we find in every room. Scattered everywhere objects and memories of the past and tastefully chosen with love by his wife Juliana, giving the house a family atmosphere and at the same time extremely welcoming.
The breakfasts, which are served in the living room in the winter and once in the room during the summer, they are based on genuine local products: bread baked in a wood, traditional sweets peasant selections of meats and cheeses from Umbria.
